Look at
Gabby now!!! All grown up. 17 months old, March 9, 2007, playing
with Shadow in the backyard.
The cool
winter weather is fun when you don't have any bugs or heat like
you do in the summer. She still gets warm, like she is here,
because she plays with gusto, running all around the yard!

Shadow

We said goodbye to Shadow this morning, July 19, 2011. He loved to lay in daddy's lap, so it is the last place where he got comfort before passing away, laying on a foam pad, a blanket and daddy's lap on the floor of the Vet's office with mommy beside him telling him she loves him.
We helped him get around for the past several months of his life, but it just got too hard for him. He was 9 years old. The cancer in his elbow made life difficult to hop around on 3 legs. The swelling in his left leg took over and became too painful for him to put any weight on that leg at all any more. The strongest pain medication and water pills just couldn't cut it.
He still loved to eat and as soon as you opened the bag of turkey necks, he found the energy and will power to come running...on 3 legs. He loved his turkey necks more than anything. He even got excited to go in the van when he knew we would be going on trips to the Vet. He just couldn't take going up and down the stairs anymore, even with his harness on to help him carry his front end.
He was a good boy. We loved him so much and miss him even more. He was the guardian of the house and the Top Dog helping to teach any of the other younger siblings the rules of the roost.
You are not in any more pain Shadow Bitty! Run free with the wind and say hi to all our other doggie friends from the past. Mommy and daddy will be there with you again someday.
Hugs and kisses! Love mommy and daddy and Sassy too!
