MESABA GREAT DANES
In 1976, I began my involvement with the wonderful Great Dane breed. My first Dane was a black male, Dunkirk’s Patrick Henry CDX. I have been actively involved with this beautiful breed ever since & have had the privilege of living with blacks, brindles, fawns and a harlequin.
Starting in 1980, I began an affiliation with Glorilane Great Danes. Through this affiliation, I learned a lot more about this breed, co bred 2 litters, had multiple champions and obedience title holders and a wonderful friendship with Sue & Jill Goss. BISS Ch. Glorilane Cause For Applause CD, CGC was Minnesota’s first black champion male. He was campaigned to his title by myself and my good friends & professional handlers John & Jessie Gerszewski.
In 1999, I purchased a black puppy bitch from Tootie Longo ( Longo’s Great Danes ) and Kathy Fraser.
She became Ch. Longo’s She’s Outta Sight - Mesaba’s foundation bitch.
Waiting 26 years before breeding a litter on my own, " Lindsey" was bred to Ch. Helisain Monsieur. Six puppies were produced, 4 males and 2 bitches. 3 are currently being shown. They are:
CH Mesaba Ride With The Wind - "Ryder" - owner handled
CH Mesaba Razzle Dazzle - "Beemer"
Mesaba Rais’n A Ruckus - "Riot" - waiting in the wings
Our Danes are family members first and show and performance competitors second. We strive to breed healthy, well adjusted Danes that meet the Great Dane Club of America’s breed standard.
We believe in using available health screening tests for hip dysplasia, heart problems and eye problems. We do this to insure our puppy buyers, to the best of our ability, that we have done everything possible to produce healthy Great Danes.
I am a member of the Great Dane Club of America, the Duluth Kennel Club and a lifetime member of the Heart of Minnesota Great Dane Club.
We hope you enjoy your visit to our website.
